”I am still proud that we managed the turnaround in the early 2000s under Rolf Schwery’s leadership”

What was your job at SAD?

I worked at SAD between 1995 and 2005 in various roles. For the first three years, I had a student job doing administrative work and helping with research projects. From 1998 to 2001, I was a research assistant, responsible for sociological and intercultural research projects and publications. Finally, from 2002 to 2005, I was a member of management. In 2002 and 2003 I was acting executive director. During that period, I was responsible for fundraising, public relations, project acquisition and project management.

What is your best memory of your time at SAD?

I have lots of great memories but three really stand out. The first is the beautiful location with its fantastic garden. The summer party was always a real highlight of the year. Second, it was at SAD that I learnt how fundraising works – it is a field that still fascinates me. Last but not least, there are the people who I met during my time at SAD: the colleagues, the members of the foundation board and the members of the scientific board. I am still proud that we managed the turnaround in the early 2000s under Rolf Schwery’s leadership.

Where do you work now and what are your responsibilities?

Since 2010, I have been a Key Account Manager for economic partners at the Swiss Red Cross (SRK). The main focus of my work is collaborating with national and international businesses, implementing projects together to protect and improve the lives of the most vulnerable people.
