From intern to project manager: SAD was the perfect route into development work for Valeria Kunz.

What was your job at SAD?

I started working at SAD in 2005 as an intern in the area of sport and development, and ended up staying seven years, first as a project officer then as project manager for the Move 4 New Horizons project in Nepal, which I led closely for the first three years of its existence. These were all great experiences and the perfect route into development work for me.

What is your best memory of your time at SAD?

Without a doubt, the team spirit. At the time, we were a very young, very motivated team. We helped each other a lot. The friendly atmosphere at Lindenhof and eating together in the garden – where we also had meetings in summer – definitely contributed to the fantastic working environment.

Where do you work now and what are your responsibilities?

I work for Save the Children Switzerland, where I am responsible for the education programme. That means that I develop the area of education strategically, support the local offices with subject-specific input and develop new partnerships with donors in Switzerland.
