Die SAD such ein Geschäftsleitungsmitglied verantwortlich für Fundraising und internationale Projekte (60 – 80 Prozent, in Zukunft Aufstockung auf 100 Prozent möglich).

 

Major Responsibilities

Fundraising and project development (40-50%)

  • Fundraising (for projects and programmes) at the national and international level, including donor identification, network building and nurturing
  • Developing new project proposals in the strategic thematic areas of the Swiss Academy for Development (health, education, employment)
  • Providing support to staff in fundraising & project development (including internal training)
  • Developing and implementing fundraising strategies
  • Co-developing fundraising campaigns and/or other fundraising instruments

 
International project management and supervision (20-30%)

  • Supervision of selected projects and project staff (monitoring of results, development of yearly plans of operation, etc.)
  • Recruitment of project staff
  • Thematic and disciplinary management of selected project staff
  • Project design (conduct feasibility studies, select local partners, develop a log frame / theory of change, etc.)
  • Project management (conduct evaluations, analyse M&E data, monitor budgets, report to donors, design and conduct workshops in the field, etc.)
  • Development of thematic strategies
  • Involvement in organisational development: the development and implementation of the Swiss Academy for Development’s strategy, annual narrative and financial plans / reports
  • Networking and representational duties

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Demonstrated fundraising experience (in proposal writing, project development, and corporate, foundation and/or government fundraising). Please submit a list of fundraising successes with your application
  • Existing network of donors and actors in international development cooperation
  • Master’s degree or PhD in social sciences or any other relevant subjects
  • At least 10 years of experience in international development cooperation (in Switzerland and internationally)
  • Field experience in Africa, the Middle East, and/or Asia is an advantage
  • Senior management experience
  • Experience with sport and development is an advantage
  • Proven experience in education, health and/or employment in an international development context
  • Proven project management experience, proficient in monitoring and evaluation and social science research methods
  • Excellent written communication skills in German and English. Proficiency in additional languages is an advantage
  • Willingness to travel (including to potentially unstable countries)
