About grant writing and legendary hockey matches.

What was your role at SAD?

In 2008, I was Ruveni Wijesekera’s intern. I helped her and other staff with research, and writing proposal.

What is the best memory you have from your time at SAD?

Other than the interesting projects, I really liked the creaky old building with the lovely garden, and the relationship with the staff. I’ve got great memories of the high-level ping-pong matches, interesting discussions over homecooked lunches, exhausting jogs at lunchtime and a legendary hockey match with Marianne Meier 🙂 .

Where do you work now and what do you do?

I’ve been working for HELVETAS Swiss Intercooperation for several years. I’ve been head of Team Events & Education for two years now. We do awareness-raising work: that might mean working with schools or volunteers, street campaigns, travelling exhibitions (currently ‘Wir essen die Welt’ (‘We eat the world’)), Cinema Sud etc. Personally, in addition to managing the team I work with our regional groups, and organise street campaigns and film evenings or other events and competitions.
