“I particularly enjoyed the work around the 100th Newsletter and coordinating the online debate on sport and the Sustainable Development Goals on sportanddev.org.”

What was your role at SAD?

I was project manager of sportanddev.org during the period of January 2013 to September 2015. I was responsible for the daily management of sportanddev.org with the help of a dynamic and international team.

What is the best memory you have from your time at SAD?

From organising bi-weekly newsletter meetings at Lindenhof, and occasionally at Hotel Drei Rosen, to attending conferences and Steering Board meetings internationally, I have a lot of good memories from my time at SAD. I particularly enjoyed the work around the 100th Newsletter and coordinating the online debate on sport and the Sustainable Development Goals on sportanddev.org  and I have fond memories of lunch time runs up to Biel’s Tierpark. However, the best memories I have are of the various times the team organised barbeques down by the lake after work. The setting was beautiful and there was always a friendly atmosphere between colleagues.

Where do you work now and what do you do?

Since October 2015, I work for German Association for International Cooperation (GIZ) as a development advisor in Togo as part of the Sport for Development in Africa Regional Project funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). The project aims to promote the use of sport in development policy in selected African countries and has a specific focus on the rehabilitation and maintenance of sport infrastructure. I advise on and implement project measures primarily in four municipalities: Sokodé, Kara, Tsévié and Kpalimé.
