Usha remembers meeting inspiring people from all over the world.

What was your role at SAD?

I started out at SAD as an Intern and ended up Project Manager for sportanddev.org – The International Platform on Sport and Development.

What is the best memory you have from your time at SAD?

There are so many! It was always incredible to hear how users of sportanddev.org had managed to connect with others in the industry, whether to find internship opportunities or to find project partners. But I also remember one young woman from South Africa telling her story of how she would engage with her peers through sport and other activities to discuss tough issues facing her community. She was just one among many of the motivated, enthusiastic, smart and truly inspiring people I met, thanks to working for SAD.

Where do you work now and what do you do?

I now hold the position of Communications Officer-Multimedia at the International Organisation of Employers (IOE) in Geneva. My role involves: project management for multilingual standalone products for the annual International Labour Conference (websites and native mobile applications); leading integration between the IOE and service providers for our main website and creating social media campaigns.
